Our vision is to create, maintain and protect a sustainable and diverse wildlife habitat on all our waters, with the aim of providing a variety of fly fishing opportunities for our members, whatever their experience or capability
We achieve this through the sympathetic management of our lakes and rivers, including selective stocking, vegetation management, habitat enhancement and monitoring. Working closely with external organisations such as the Angling trust and Wild Trout Trust we carry out this work sensitively and responsiby.
So much so that in 2013 the Pickering Fishery Association was rewarded with Wild Trout Trust Amateur Project Conservation Award.
A credit to the effort the club members put into their working parties.
Our Association objectives are to conserve our waterrs whilst furthering the fellowship of fly fishing.
To do this we:

-
Provide a variety of fly fishing opportunities for all ages, gender and abilities, including access to fishing for those with reduced mobility
-
Broaden our membership base to include more junior and lady fly fishers
-
Provide education and awareness of sustainable habitat and fishery management through our work parties
-
Create and maintain positive working relationships with our riparian owners and authoritative bodies
-
Actively seek and extend the fly fishing opportunities for our members through acquiring further fishing rights and connecting with other fisheries that share our values
Members are expected to work 4 working parties per annum, exceptions are made for health and mobility reasons and if a Member is 70 plus.
